We also evaluate selected limited-scope primary care and urgent care concerns, including cold or flu symptoms, sinus symptoms, uncomplicated urinary symptoms, headaches, rashes, sleep concerns, and certain medication-related needs. Medical weight management is also available for eligible patients. Treatment recommendations depend on clinical appropriateness and telehealth suitability.

Can I get prescriptions through a virtual appointment?

Yes. When clinically appropriate, prescriptions may be sent electronically to a Louisiana pharmacy. Prescriptions are not guaranteed and depend on the provider's evaluation, diagnosis, safety considerations, applicable law, and Wholesome Clinic policies. Controlled-substance prescribing is limited and may require additional records, monitoring, testing, or referral.

Does Wholesome Clinic prescribe controlled substances in Louisiana?

Accepted Answer

Controlled-substance prescribing is limited and subject to clinical appropriateness, federal and Louisiana requirements, telehealth rules, prescription-monitoring review, and Wholesome Clinic policy. We do not routinely prescribe benzodiazepines or other habit-forming medications for anxiety. Certain medications may require prior treatment records, additional testing, in-person evaluation, or referral to a local clinician. A controlled-substance prescription is never guaranteed.

Yes. Eligible patients may receive individualized medical weight management that includes nutrition and lifestyle guidance, progress monitoring, and FDA-approved prescription options such as Wegovy or Zepbound when clinically appropriate and accessible through the patient's pharmacy or insurance plan.

Virtual psychiatric care begins with a diagnostic evaluation through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Your provider reviews your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, current medications, previous treatment, and care goals. When appropriate, the provider develops an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, counseling recommendations, testing, referrals, and follow-up visits.

Do you offer online ADHD testing in Louisiana?

Yes. ADHD evaluations may include a clinical interview, validated questionnaires, review of medical and behavioral history, collateral information when appropriate, and QbCheck computer-based testing for eligible patients ages 6 to 60. QbCheck provides objective information about attention, activity, and impulse control that is interpreted together with the complete clinical assessment. Testing alone does not establish a diagnosis.

Can I use insurance for virtual visits?

Insurance participation varies by provider, service, and health plan. Please contact Wholesome Clinic before scheduling to verify current Louisiana participation, eligibility, and expected patient responsibility. Self-pay appointments are also available. Wholesome Clinic does not currently accept Medicare or Medicaid for Louisiana virtual care.

You will need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection, and a private location suitable for discussing personal health information. Appointment access instructions will be provided before the visit.

Can I switch all my primary care to virtual visits?

Accepted Answer

Virtual care may be appropriate for selected routine concerns, stable chronic-condition follow-up, medication monitoring, and certain preventive services. It cannot replace every aspect of in-person primary care. Some symptoms and conditions require a physical examination, laboratory testing, imaging, emergency care, or evaluation by a local clinician. Your provider will explain when in-person care is necessary.
